Research into Ageing funds the best and most needed biomedical research that will improve health in later life.

Research into Ageing was founded in 1976 and is now a special trust within Help the Aged and a member of the Association of Medical Research Charities.

Research into Ageing supports high-quality basic, clinical and epidemiological research into all aspects of ageing, including the science of cellular ageing and the most common health problems affecting older people, including neurodegeneration, cognitive decline, bone and joint conditions, sensory loss, wound healing, muscle wasting and stroke. We presently have a special initiative to promote research into incontinence.

Applications for cancer research will not be considered, nor do we consider policy, social or health service evaluation. Find out more about our remit
